Who we are
Founders of Cala Jami have been Roshan und Gerhard. Both have started with meditation and spiritual practises in the eighties. In 1995 they founded the "Lichtkreis" (circle of light) in Augsburg, a place for meditation and inspiration through heart-opening exercises, poems, songs, dances. Soon after that they started to visit the Sufi summer camp in Switzerland (Sufi Order International), came into contact with the Sufi teacher Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and fell in love with this mystical path.
They love singing and dancing sacred songs and dances of all spiritual and religious traditions.

Roshan

Roshan, head of the Sufi centre Cala Jami, teaches meditation and guides retreats in the Sufi Order International.  She has been giving free meditation classes for about twenty years and earns her living as a trainer for language and communication.
As a young woman, for several years she lived in the midst of the powerful nature of Sardinia, and started to learn the art of meditation in 1986, first under the guidance of an Indian meditation teacher, then on the Sufi path.
She also feels inspired and enriched by Safi Nidiaye's method of liberating and embracing one's emotions ('Body-Heart Awareness').
Deeply connected to the path of the Sufis and to the island, she enjoys sharing this ecstasy, beauty and power with others. See also '
Soothe your soul' and 'Individual retreat'.

Gerhard, former ultra-marathon-runner and Squash-trainer, has been giving free meditation classes for more than twenty years. He is a manager in a health and fitness studio in Germany. His intense dedication to the project contributed immensely to the development of Cala Jami, especially in the beginning.

Lena

Lena, born in 1984, grown up in the wild Sardinian hinterland during the first years of her life, lives at Cala Jami. She loves nature, to her it is the direct gateway to the divine. When she was still a small child she already got in touch with meditation, spiritual masters and paths. Having joined the Swiss Sufi camp with Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan 15 years ago for the first time, today she feels deeply connected to the Sufi path.
Having been trained in biological gardening for three years, she now works as a travel and hiking guide in Sardinia.
Her wish is that more and more young people shall find their way to magic Cala Jami. See also 'back to nature - we are nature'.
